The modern, intimate perfumes of niche brand Wienerblut are inspired by the rich Viennese history.
Founded in 2009 by Alexander Lauber, WienerBlut Fragrances is an independent perfume house from Vienna. WienerBlut creates fragrances based on original formulas and fads of 19th century Vienna.
The term WienerBlut was coined in 1873 and describes the unique blend of archness and hedonism attributed to the Viennese.
"Fragrances can take us to special places. Places that exist only beyond space and time"
To WienerBlut, great fragrances are like treasured secrets, giving the most pleasure to those who carry them. Their formulas are built to whisper, not to shout. Listen carefully to the stories they tell.
Alexander loves the complexity of natural raw materials, and use them generously.
Because of the hand finishing, each bottle will charm you with individual irregularities. The caps are made of ivory bakelite, a material most notably used in the early nineteen hundreds. It's smooth, has a warm touch and an organic surface feel.
Dark, spicy warmth betrays the presence of the beast Typhon, amid hostile forces in tones of black, brown and uncanny blue.
A fragrance as intangible as Gustav Klimt’s golden vision of the Elysian Fields, an ideal realm, wherein alone we can find pure joy, happiness and love. It wears like a subtle, immaterial cloak of bright light, verdant freshness and subdued florality.
A milky fragrance that captures intimate skin feeling – with animalic and lactonic notes vibrating around a luscious core of sandalwood.
A powdery floral fragrance with fresh iris, referring to the forgotten flower Volkamaria, the curiously soft and exotic flower that was the talk of the town in the Austrian Empire.
Fresh Bora wind blows across Quarnero Bay and along the "Lungomare" promenade lined with palm trees and oaks. A salty sea smell with laurel, green algae and a hint of wild juniper bushes, overgrowing the stone ruins from the hinterland.
A pine forest high in the mountains. The eternal snow sparkles under the cool moonlight.
Picture the scene: you are sitting in a leather armchair on the patio of an Indian palace, sipping your whiskey after a day of adventure. Just like Emperor Franz Ferdinand did back in 1892.
Hesperia is an invigorating fragrance and a sensory journey through the morning palace gardens of Vienna, where you can feel a hint of tangerine blossom and box leaf in the cool air.
Ex Voto creates the atmosphere of a cool, empty cathedral on a warm spring day. A silent veil of incense floats over the smooth, cold marble floor, a hint of burnt candles and dried flowers hangs in the air.
A perfume that feels familiar yet uncanny, both sexy and unsettling, and therefore continues to intrigue.
You make your way through pristine, almost impenetrable nature. There is no path, no one went before you. Twigs break off and leaves brush past your legs as you continue into this undiscovered territory.
