Returns policy


Try first before you open the box

To ensure that you don't buy a fragrance you don't like in the end, you receive a sample with each bottle (from 30ml or more), so you can test your perfume before opening your perfume box. We cannot take back opened boxes.

You can also order 2 ml samples separately before buying a bottle.

We cannot provide samples for other products, like soaps, candles, etc...

How to return or exchange a product?


We hope that you are pleased with the products you received from us, but if you are not satisfied with your purchase, we offer you a refund or exchange. You can return unopened, unused products (with the exception of samples, gift vouchers and discovery boxes) in their original condition and packaging within 14 days of receipt.
Upon receipt of your return, and if it meets the conditions, we will refund the purchase price.

To return or exchange a product follow these steps: 

  1. log in to your account. If you don't have an account yet, we kindly ask you to register first. Please use the same email address you used for your purchase.
  2. select the order in question, click on 'return item(s)', fill out the form and send it.
  3. as soon as we receive your request, we will send you a return label via e-mail.
  4. pack the product securely and stick the return label on the box. 
  5. drop the package off at the nearest collection point of the carrier.

Please allow up to 14 working days for your return or exchange to be processed.

If you did not pay a shipping fee on your order, we will charge the cost of returning your product. If you did pay shipping costs, you can return the product for free.

We cannot refund products that have not been packed with due care and therefore arrive damaged. Any risk for the return shipment shall be borne by the customer. Smell stories cannot be held liable for any problems (such as loss or damage) in the return shipment.


We cannot take back other products than perfume, such as soaps, candles, magazines, etc... unless we sent you the wrong product, the product was damaged on arrival or if you paid via Klarna. When paying via Klarna we can only take back the product if it has not yet been opened or used, in its original condition and packaging. 
In these cases, follow the steps described above. 

Cancel Your Order

We are unable to cancel or modify your order once it has been shipped.  If you want to cancel an order that hasn't been shipped yet, log in to your account to review your order. If you don't have an account yet, please register first, using the email address you used for your purchase.
