Gourmand fragrances draw their inspiration from the culinary world, featuring notes such as vanilla, chocolate, caramel, nuts, honey, milk or coffee. They can feel creamy and comforting, and sometimes truly evoke the scent of a pastry. Others are downright decadent. Angel by Thierry Mugler is considered the first true gourmand fragrance. It is a creation by master perfumer Olivier Cresp, who, together with his daughter, founded the AKRO brand, which you can find in our store. We often find gourmand fragrances familiar. They tend to be a little sweeter. But our artistic perfume houses like to colour outside the lines, combining those almost edible elements with unexpected notes such as flowers, wood, tobacco or leather. So gourmands aren’t just for those with a sweet tooth.
