Aquatic fragrances evoke the sensation of water, without necessarily mimicking its scent. After all, what does water smell like? It could be the scent of the deep ocean, sea salt drying on your skin, a swirling river, rain on stone, or the white crests of a wave waiting for a surfer. Some aquatic fragrances feel briny and atmospheric, whilst others have a pure, almost transparent quality. They can give a scent a sense of space, as if there were suddenly more air around you.
