The woody fragrance family is perhaps the most diverse and versatile category of perfumes. They really can go in any direction. Some smell of dry wood, almost like pencil shavings (cedarwood), whilst others are creamy and soft (sandalwood). They can smell aromatic and fresh thanks to notes such as pine or cypress, or earthy and melancholic (with vetiver or patchouli). Oud, on the other hand, creates a deep and dark sensation. The scent of a dry tree trunk, a forest just after the rain or a polished wooden cupboard – there’s a woody fragrance to suit everyone’s taste.
