Originally launched under the name Ambre Royal, this fragrance aspired to become the fragrance of kings, the king of ambers. In the 1920s, it was renamed SKETCH to conquer the American market. The word ‘sketch’ evokes a rough draft, a rough sketch, but also a drawing in the making, a creation in constant evolution. Through this name, SKETCH embodies the ambition of Maison VIOLET: to redefine the codes of traditional perfumery whilst remaining true to its roots.
SKETCH symbolises this desire to draw inspiration from the classic patterns of perfumery, whilst adding a touch of modernity, much like a designer revisiting the sketches of yesterday with a new colour palette. Timeless and daring, this fragrance reflects who we are, faithful to the house’s heritage whilst looking to the future.
