BARUTI is the independent perfume house founded by Dr. Spyros Drosopoulos, a perfumer with a background in psychology, sleep research and neuroscience. His curiosity for the way scent influences the mind eventually led him from academia into the world of fragrance creation, where science and creativity meet.
BARUTI develops perfumes that explore the unexpected sides of scent. Each composition balances familiarity and surprise, transforming everyday inspirations, imagined scenes and abstract ideas into expressive olfactive creations. The name BARUTI, Greek for “gunpowder”, reflects this approach: fragrances with energy, character and a spark of the unexpected.
Created in small batches in the brand’s own laboratory, BARUTI perfumes are crafted with a spirit of experimentation and a deep respect for materials. Beyond creating fragrances, Spyros shares his knowledge through teaching and research, helping to open up the world of perfumery to a new generation of curious minds.
