BARUTI perfumes is an independent perfume house from The Netherlands that is making a splash among fragrance lovers with its unique creations. Founded by self-taught perfumer Spyros Drosopoulos, the brand has become renowned for its strong personal character and combining novelty with wearability.
The name BARUTI means “gunpowder” in Greek. The name fits the brand very well because each BARUTI perfume is like a little explosion.
Spyros Drosopoulos, master perfumer and founder of BARUTISpyros Drosopoulos is a former neuroscientist and scientific researcher, who has always had a fascination with scent. After discovering perfumery, Spyros quit his teaching job at the University of Amsterdam and traded the comfort of academia for his newly found love: making perfumes. Spyros is self-taught. He is fascinated by the technically challenging process of fragrance composition as well as the endless creative possibilities. For him, it is the perfect combination of art and science. Spyros has dedicated the past few years to experimenting with new and often rare materials, always looking for novel ways to express his artistic vision.
