Chris Maurice
Spanish master perfumer Chris Maurice, also known as Christian Carbonnel, grew up in one of Spain’s great perfume families. His grandfather founded Carbonnel in Barcelona in 1925, and Chris learned the craft from within the family business, surrounded from an early age by raw materials, laboratories and the world of fragrance.
His work brings together the precision of European perfumery with the boldness of Middle Eastern fragrance culture, an influence that runs deep in his family’s history. He is known for compositions with a strong presence, generous use of materials and a taste for unusual combinations. Among his best-known creations are Alexandria II for Xerjoff, Lira for Casamorati 1888 and Nefs for Nishane. You can discover several other of Chris Maurice’s creations in our collection here.
