Before The World Moved Again seeks to capture a human in-between moment: the quiet pause in which you suddenly hear your own pace again. Inspired by a small Balinese scene where devotion and calmness silence the noise of the world, the fragrance carries a meditative clarity and a grounded, almost ritual depth. It is complex yet open, unfolding slowly rather than declaring itself. A scent that steadies without wanting to overwhelm. A still place in motion. Perfumer Chester Gibs composed it as a reminder that meaning rarely lies in grand gestures, but in the attention we give to life’s smallest details. This work is exactly that: a space to breathe, a moment of stillness rendered in scent.
Chester Gibbs
Chester approaches scent the way some people approach memory : by following the quiet thread it leaves behind. What began with bottles on a shelf became a way of seeing perfumes as colours, moods, and small shifts in atmosphere.
His work is shaped by a mixed heritage of tropical white flowers and kitchen spices, where incense, myrrh, and cinnamon were part of everyday ritual. Those notes now return in his compositions as a way of honouring where he comes from.
In each fragrance, he insists on leaving a trace of the boy who refused to accept that flowers could be gendered, and of the artist who treats perfume as a tool, not a finish.
For Chester, scent and image are parallel gestures. Both are bridges between the visible and the felt, guided by a simple motto: wherever you go, go with all your heart.
The perfume is presented in a magnetic card box finished with Italian Favini paper, and housed in a cubic bottle with a weighty ZAMAC cap featuring an embossed New Niche logo. It's a restrained, precise object that supports the fragrance without overshadowing it.
