Although for a long time it was impossible to distil the scents of fruit (so they were replicated using synthetic molecules), nowadays you can find all kinds of fruity notes in perfume. Citrus fruits do not belong to this family; these are found in the ‘citrus’ category.
Fruity scents capture the juicy character of fruit in perfume. They feel cheerful and youthful. Some scents contain notes of stone fruits, such as peach, dates, plum or cherry. Others focus on red fruits with notes of strawberry, blueberry or raspberry. Tropical fruits such as guava, lychee, pineapple and durian lend a perfume an exotic character, whilst classic fruits such as apple and pear add a fresh, familiar touch. Fig is also popular, often combined with the green freshness of fig leaves. In short, whatever fruit you like, there is undoubtedly a perfume in which you can find it.
