Johan Bergelin, founder of 19-69, was in his teens when he first discovered Helmut Newton's picture that made Yves Saint Laurent's smoking iconic. The andogyny of it made a big impression on him. With stark monochrome simplicity, Newton created a piece of iconography. L ́air Barbès was strongly influenced by this picture.

L ́air Barbès is also a tribute to the fashion capital Paris. Evocative of Paris ́ different personas such as the concrete alleyways, le banlieue and the area Barbès – Rochechouart. Cold, light and fresh.

• This 200 ml candle burns for approximately 48 hours.
• A blend of the finest vegetable waxes in a traditional formula from 1961 is used for the 19-69 candles. Hand crafted in Italy. Candle will burn for approximately 48 hours.
• The glass containers are varnished and screen printed in Italy. Each 19-69 product is handmade, therefore small variations should be considered part of the character.
• All raw ingredients are carefully considered and selected to ensure the finest quality.

• When using the candle for the first time, let it burn for 2 to 3 hours until all the wax has become liquid so that the surface remains homogeneous.
• Before each use, trim the wick to 3–5 mm and burn the candle in 3-hour intervals.
