Johan Bergelin, founder of 19-69, was in his teens when he first discovered Helmut Newton's picture that made Yves Saint Laurent's smoking iconic. The andogyny of it made a big impression on him. With stark monochrome simplicity, Newton created a piece of iconography. L ́air Barbès Eau de Parfum was strongly influenced by this picture.
